Pancreatic angiography

The pancreas borrows its arteries from the coeliac trunk and the superior mesenteric, which meet in arcades around its head. Fill each side in turn and see which projection pulls the anterior arcade off the posterior one.

Angiogram

AP 0° 0°

Seen as from the detector: in AP the patient's left is on your right, the head at the top.

Each run fills only its own half of the arcades; the two halves meet head to head in the pancreaticoduodenal groove, the collateral that keeps the liver perfused when the coeliac trunk narrows.
